Receiving Associate position

Position 1 : Receiving Associate                                            Reports to:  Warehouse Manager

Qualifications: High school diploma required. Minimum of two years experience in warehouse or retail operations, transportation, construction, supervision, or related field required. 

Requirements/Skills: Must be energetic, team oriented, self motivated, well organized, able to prioritize, have a good driving record and be able to lift 50 pounds (multiple times in a day).  Must be comfortable with and present a good image to all kinds of people.  Must be able to establish, communicate, and achieve short term goals, diplomatically provide direction and express appreciation. Good verbal communication skills required. Must be able to articulate the mission of HFH-QC and adopt the mission of the ReStore. The ability to work effectively and sensitively with a diverse group of people and professionally represent Habitat for Humanity is essential. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary. Fork lift experience is desirable.

Job Classification: Non-Exempt Hours: 20-25 hours per week, could grow to full time                    

Job responsibilities include: Receiving and processing incoming donations, assisting customers with shopping and loading of purchases, overseeing volunteer work in the receiving area and supporting encouraging and appreciating volunteers.  

Some specific duties will include: Oversee the intake and processing of donations (onsite)... Review/screen potential donations – reject unsuitable donations...Process, clean (if necessary), and price incoming donations...Assist with “pick ups” as appropriate (in a ReStore vehicle)...Make sure the “receiving job” is covered competently and safely...Assist with in-store renovations, maintenance, etc., as needed...Dispose and recycle appropriate materials...Deliver merchandise...Coordinate with other staff to provide adequate coverage...Participate, as needed in harvesting operations...Provide general customer assistance in the store.
